Fun Ideas for a Day Out With Your Canine Companion

  |     |   Apartment Living

When you’re a dog owner living in Wilmington apartments, sometimes it's nice to get out with your canine friend and see the world around you. However, not all public places are receptive to letting you bring your dog along. We’ve put together a list of ideas for fun outings that you can easily share with your favorite pet.

Fun Outings for Dog Owners Living in Wilmington Apartments

  • Dog Park. It only makes sense to check out the local dog parks. In Wilmington, you may want to check out Wilmington Dog Park and Ogden Dog Park. These can get a little busy at times, so learn when the crowds are at their thinnest if you want more space for your pet to move around without as much of an issue with overcrowding.

  • Coffee Shops. Many coffee shops have outdoor areas where you can enjoy your favorite beverage and let your dog relax and socialize. Even better, some of the larger chains will give you a cup of water or perhaps a dog bone to help Fido feel more comfortable.

  • Home Improvement Stores. Check the rules, but some of the big-name home improvement stores, such as Home Depot, allow dogs as long as they are leashed. Do your shopping, and let your pet get some socialization. It’s a win-win.

  • Food Truck Events. One fun way to enjoy a meal out with your pooch is to attend a food truck event. Listen on the radio or check out social media to find out when these events occur, and plan to bring a snack for your pet. You don’t want to rely on having to feed your pet from the trucks, do you?

  • National Parks. Most national parks do allow well-behaved pets in some areas. Just follow all posted signs and clean up after your companion.

If you’re looking for pet-friendly apartments in Wilmington, we’d love to show you our available floor plans at Quad Apartment Homes today. Not only do we allow pets, we welcome them and even offer a pet park to make walking your canine friend a breeze!
